The painting was an entry for the Jia Canvas Competition for a newly opened boutique hotel in Malacca. The theme is to portray Malacca's beauty.

The subject of this painting is Malacca's A'Famosa. It is seperated in half, half of it shows the past and half of it shows the present to show the huge change in Malacca. The title, 'Change of Heart' shows the changes of people's priorities in life, where in the past, fighting for the country comes first whereas peace is most important for Malacca today.
